Local artists work together with international visiting artists in an atmosphere of cooperation, interaction and cultural exchange. Through this approach, artists are given the opportunity to follow new directions and push themselves beyond the boundaries of their own practice.
[important color=blue title=Studios & Facilities]Greatmore has in total 14 studios. Eight of these are reserved for local artists who can stay for a maximun of three years. The four remaining studios are kept for visiting artists. 12 artists a year are invited from around the world to participate in the visiting artist residency. The programme is for a three month period and invites 3-4 artists at any one time. Since December 1999, 60 artists from 19 countries have taken part in the Visiting Artist Residency.
All artists in residence at Greatmore, whether local or international, are required to participate in our outreach programme as well as exhibit their work in Greatmore's gallery space. [/important]
Greatmore Studios forms part of the Triangle Arts Trust, a United Kingdom based organisation that initiates and facilitates an international network of artist-led workshops and residencies. This association affords artists access to information and opportunities to exchange ideas and skills with other artists around the world.
