Roelf Daling

Resident Artist: South Africa

Studio 5

Roelf graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts where he majored in new media arts and has since focussed on art forms using LED lighting, lasers, projection mapping, computer vision and software programming. His passion is to combine sculpture with interactive technology and DIY electronics. In 2011, Roelf won the PPC Young Sculptor Award with a work called ‘The hole we found’.

He continued his studies in 2013 at Wits Digital Art Department where he completed his post-graduate diploma in Interactive Media Design, and will continue into his Masters over the next two years. He recently got accepted at Greatmore studios in Cape Town where he enjoys a personal studio space for the first time. Currently Roelf is working on a new body of work, looking at the intersection between Nature, Technology and Art.
