Bangikaya was born in Eastern-Cape in Town called Butterworth. He came to work in Cape Town towork in the hotel industry.At this time he was persuading his senior academic certificate as well. The opportunity to becoming an artist came after he was retrenched. He enrolled for visual studies at the Community Arts Project school formally known as C.A.P. for a period of two years. His work have been exhibited at the AVA in Cape Town and Johannesburg group exhibitions.He has participated in mentoring programmes at the Bagfactory ( Fordsburg art studios ) in Johannesburg and at Greatmore studios. This is his third residency at Greatmore Studios. Some of his work can be seen on Facebook.
